Tmobile is the second-largest GSM carrier in the United States. It was originally founded as VoiceStream Wireless in 2001, until VoiceStream was acquired by Germany’s Deutsche Telekom.

In comparison to the country’s three other telecommunications giants, Tmobile carries one of the smaller networks, although it has roaming agreements with AT&T and other small operators.

In 2008, Tmobile launched its 3G network, supplementing the large selection of cell phones and smart phones that comprise its handset lineup. Tmobile, to date, has 32.8 million subscribers in the US.

Tmobile Coverage Review

It has network coverage in every state except Alaska. Its 3G network has done wonders in advancing network connections for Tmobile, although coverage and reception are still spotty in rural areas. International roaming is available in more than 187 countries.

The Tmobile network runs on GSM, GPRS, EDGE and AWS platforms. Despite an advance in the launch of its 3G network, it still does not offer video streaming, music download and push-to-talk services.
